    Biographical Note

    Jeb Stuart Magruder (1934-2014) was an American businessman who served in the Richard M. Nixon White House as deputy director of communications, and as the director and then deputy director for the Committee to Re-elect the President (CRP) for the 1973 presidential election.

    Scope and Content Note

    The collection contains materials related to Magruder's career during the Richard M. Nixon presidency, including files from his time as the deputy director of communications (1969-1971), and then as director and subsequent deputy director of the Committee to Re-elect the President (1971-1973). The collection contains memorandum, subject files related to drafting policy and communications, and materials related to the Watergate trial. Of note are personal correspondence to and from Jeb and Gail Magruder, including correspondence during Jeb's incarceration.
