Howard Estabrook (1884-1978) was an American actor, director, producer, and screenwriter. He began his career on stage in
New York in 1904 and made his silent film debut with
Officer 666 (1914), he started producing films in 1924, and began writing screenplays in 1928. He won the Academy Award for Best Adapted
Screenplay for
Cimarron (1931). He later served on the Academy Board of Governors.
