Description
The Milton E. Pickman papers span the years 1927-1982 and encompass 7.3 linear feet. The bulk of the collection consists of unproduced scripts, reader reports, and synopses.
Background
Milton E. Pickman was an American motion picture industry executive. He came to Hollywood from New York in the 1930s and was active into the 1960s. He spent a large portion of his career representing actors and actresses as an agent at his own talent agency. At one time he was associated professionally with agent Irving "Swifty" Lazar. He was involved in film production and promotion at various studios, including Columbia, RKO, and 20th Century-Fox. In the late 1950s he served as general manager of Samuel Goldwyn Productions.
