Biographical / Historical

Varnie Lindstadt served with Company A, 339th Field Artillery, American Expeditionaty Force and Robert Lindstadt served with Company E, 33rd Engineers, American Expeditionary Force. They both served overseas in England and France.

This collection contains 82 letters written by Varnie Lindstadt and Robert Lindstadt during the First World War. They wrote to family, specifically to their sister Clara, a third brother Elmer, and to their mother Sophia. Also included in the collection are letters by several other soldiers writing to members of the Lindstadt family.
Some of the authors in this collection are connected with some of the authors in ACC# 2014.032.w "Dorothy Hornberger First World War Correspondence" Some of them were possibly friends.
