Scope and Content of Collection
This collection contains 109 hours, or almost 100 ½-inch EIAJ-1 open reel tapes, recorded by the early gay video production
group Queer Blue Light. Subjects range from politics to culture and include: a 1973 tape on the Bakersfield Gay Student Union;
a 1975 demonstration of gay teachers in San Francisco; the 1976 Castro Street Fair; and a provocative 31 minute documentary
called Sign 504 Now about a four week long sit-in of disability rights protesters at the Department of Health, Education,
and Welfare. All reels of historical interest have been digitized and available for viewing at the GLBT Historical Society
archives.
